Small unit stacking
Having smaller creatures being able to stack in a hex could give them flexibility and make for interesting tactical choices.
Animals like wolves and the like, less than half the mass of a human with natural attacks can stack 2 (or 3 in the case of really small things like rats) in a single hex and all can engage. Small enemies like goblins can do this if armed only with certain small weapons, daggers/clubs/cesti or with thrusting weapons like spears. A pair of goblins can create a shield wall in a single hex where one is in front and the other, immune to direct attack until the forward one is down, can attack with a spear. Perhaps a specific talent to for combined unit tactics to allow this or other combinations. A bonus to defense for units not attacking but shielding themselves and the unit behind them. |

Re: Small unit stacking
Yeah, maybe, although it is a pretty chunky effect doubling the number of opponents you could face.
Could a sweeping blow hit both figures in a hex? If two foes are in a hex and you miss one, do you get a chance to hit the other sort of like rolling to miss when striking into HTH? |
