Cleric Resurrection
1. Bought the game yesterday 17th edition.
2. Got online and found the rules modifications for 19th edition. 3. Found a previous post on Cleric Resurrection that indicated that the player must declare X cards and then discard X cards from those drawn or already in hand. Question: Since the number of cards in the discard pile is most often unknown, can the player just declare an extremely large number to guarantee that the entire discard pile is available to choose from or must the number X declared be within the range of cards in the discard pile? Does this ability work on both discard piles, i.e. when drawing from the Doors Pile or Treasures Piles? I may be mistaken but this ability appears to be "broken". Is this the case? Re: Cleric Resurrection
You seem to have overlooked a key element. The Cleric doesn't get to pick and choose cards out of the discards - he gets the top X cards, and X is limited both by the number of cards in the Cleric's hand and the number of cards he's eligible to draw face-up.
As for which discard pile - whichever one matches the cards he's supposed to draw face-up. So if he had help in a combat and the monsters were worth 5 treasures but the Cleric only has two cards in his hand, the Cleric can discard both cards to resurrect the top two treasure discards (or one to resurrect one, or none to ignore the ability), then he'd draw the rest as normal: face-up from the treasure deck. So, no - not especially broken at all. |

Re: Cleric Resurrection
Also, it's probably best to use whatever the card you have says. Otherwise you'll just confuse yourself.
There is an expansion you can order now called Go Up A Level that has the updated class and race cards for all flavors of Munchkin, plus other cards that were changed. (You can see those in the Change Log) I'd personally suggest not using the new class abilities until you buy that, so you have the exact text on the card in front of you. Re: Cleric Resurrection
Thanks for the help. I misread/understood the prior post on Cleric Resurrection and by extension misunderstood the Change Log. Clearly not broken now that I get it!

Re: Cleric Resurrection
Ummm.... the whole discard so many cards to change how many are drawn from the Discard versus the Deck is the easy part. I am a little bit curious about timing of the resolution. Let's say a Treasure card (A) is played that allows a Treasure card to be drawn. A player discards Treasure card (B) from their hand to draw Treasure card (C) from the discard with the Cleric's ability. Which will be on top in the discard after the effect Treasure card (A) or Treasure card (B)?

So, in your example, if Treasure A that you played allows you to draw a face-up Treasure card, you then resurrect Treasure C and then discard Treasure A and some other card from your hand than Treasure C. If you discard Treasure B, you can discard it with Treasure A in whatever order you prefer. |

Re: Cleric Resurrection
Can the resurrection ability be used for "kicking down the door" at the beginning of your turn? and if so, do the cards you draw from the discarded doors pile act as if you just kicked them down or just picked them up? And do you play as normal after? (e.g. loot the room and play a monster to fight etc.)
