Or... It might be that long hoped-for book on modifiers.

For all the good stuff out there from Basic Set to Powers to Supers to Imbuements to Alternate Damage in Pyramid, aspect like Super ST which is done easily in other games is just not fully settled in GURPS (the number of threads on this over the years is a good indicator of this). Might it be that PU 4 is the answer??
I doubt it.
It seems to broad for the Power Ups line.
Also I would expect something like that to have undergone the usual playtest route and have not seen anything like that announced.
Maybe a collection of enhancements, which would be nice.

Not Another Shrubbery and Refplace, I agree a book on modifiers sounds a lot more probable.

Hmm, that'd be cool. But, I'm willing to bet it's a collection of advantage enhancements: Cosmic being an enhancement. Which could help the genre tou speak of.

EDIT: Wow, I thought the post I replying to was the latest one.

As a general rule, the Power-Ups series are designed to apply to a wide range of games. So I promise you that PU4 -- whatever it happens to be -- will be applicable to a much broader range of games than just "four-color supers." (So consider that reassurance for most of you, and a "sorry, mate!" for DD.)

Oh sure, I was not hoping that PU4 would be specifically aimed at Four Color Super but rather that it could be aimed at all sort of high powered abilities/enhancements/whatnot that could also be beneficial to the dark corner of Four Color Super that GURPS still doesn't do well in my opinion.

But hey! no sweat! I'm curious to know what it is so wild speculations are fun!

Bummer. Another classic item. Don't get me wrong -- Fantasy Bestiary is a good book (i.e., if you want good monster inspiration, BUY IT), full of useful stuff. But it's 3e, and I already own it. I'm hungering for several of the items in the pipe, such as the new DF and Power-Ups items. My money is literally burning a hole in my pocket. Which is a problem. I've got to pause to stop, drop, and roll.

Look at it this way: The faster they burn through all the Classic items, the sooner they'll have to produce new content every week...

Two words: asbestos underwear.

They have limited manpower to keep the pipeline going. The Classic items require only scanning and formatting (and probably editing, to make sure the OCR doesn't screw up too badly). MUCH less work than a new product.

Plus, I think they have figured out that people have limited budgets. You and me will buy pretty much anything they produce, I know. But there are people who have to decide what products they want, when it comes to their budget.

These are both good points. It's nice to have enough blow money to purchase things like this. Even so, I don't have much, and still won't purchase just anything GURPS related (for instance, I'm not a THS fan). That said, I often find myself going back and buying old items that I never thought I would. I bought Alchemical Baroque and Age of Gold (both of which initially turned me off) over the past couple of weeks because I wanted to see their treatment of ritual/path magic in their respective settings. I found both worth the price of admission just for that, but as I read through the former, I find the setting interesting and worthwhile. And were I to run the right science fiction game (or end up playing in one), I might revisit the THS line.

All that said, I'm looking forward to several of the items that are in the queue...
