Summon Myrmidon restriction?
ITL: "the Myrmidon can be any starting (32-point) fighter with any legal combination of regular weapons and armor."
What's a "fighter"? Gargoyle ST 13, DX 11, IQ 8, Halberd(2d)

Re: Summon Myrmidon restriction?
In spite of language in ITL to the contrary, I think it is a mistake to allow too much flexibility or customization in the 'myrmidon's' abilities. I don't believe the spell’s intent was to summon a made-to-order warrior. Look at where the spell falls in the hierarchy of summoning spells... better than a wolf, but not as good as a bear and neither of which can be customized. In spite of what they look like, I have always assumed that summoned beings (in TFT) are more like constructs than living things; a template-ed automaton given substance by magic.
Besides, everybody knows you are summoning a man-sized warrior bug, not a person. ;)

Re: Summon Myrmidon restriction?
I've always played so that Summon Myrmidon could bring forth any 32-point IQ 8 human fighter with whatever legal weapon/armor combo desired, with only positive effect on the game. Want to keep the enemy guessing if it is an illusion? Then don't summon a myrmidon with a bow!

Re: Summon Myrmidon restriction?
How good are the mirrors in your world? Can you recreate your own face if you've never actually seen it (or not clearly)?
And even if you DO have a good mirror, might you unwittingly make your duplicate a left-to-right flipped version of yourself? (Roll vs. IQ to avoid the mistake?) As for Myrmidons, I take that word to mean something like "standard issue armed flunky" — so if I were the GM, that spell would produce somebody armed like a normal town guardsman or grunt-level soldier from the caster's home region & culture. |

Re: Summon Myrmidon restriction?
Somewhere there is a note that any 32pt NPC card can be used for Summon Myrmidon.
