Default [DF] Threshold magic points

Hello there!
I need an advice: one of my players has a "norse-type" of warrior priest.
He'd wish to increase his tally's pool when he is wounded or wounds someone.

I was looking for a kind of energy reverse that can be filled in that way. But as far as i know, he can't use them, refill them and use them again: tally points are fixed. Hope it makes sense.

So, for instance: he is wounded for 5 damage, then he has 5 more tallies. He uses 4, he still has 1. Then he wounds something for 5 damage, and he has 6 tallies. And so on.
How do i create such an energy reserve?

This one's a pickle all right.

The 'simplest' way I can envision it is so: ER bought with "Accessibility: Equal to wounds* received or dealt" and then buy the ER pool up to the maximum amount the Priest can have.

So say he buys it up to 10, he can't touch it until he get's wounded or wounds someone, at which point he can access up to the amount of the wound delivered/received. The problem is, this is not a never ending supply...

Hang a moment. Let me look into DR (Absorption) and see if I can't finagle something...

Regeneration (limited by wounds dealt) on Energy Reserve, maybe?

Feels like a type of vampirism to me?

You would go the Leech route?

If you have Imbuements, I'd give him Imbuement 3 (Vampiric Weapon only, -80%) and have a variant that converts damage into tally rather than Energy Reserve.

You can also buy ia variant on Rapid Magical Recover (Thaumatology, p. 79) on a limitation or just change it up.
I might create a new variant, basing it off expected damage dealt per day vs. normal recovery rate. This could be pretty cheap actually, base is +25% for 5 points after all.

I'd like to let Regeneration and Leech away from equation. Don't want to make things more difficult.

The point is: Tally reserve is always usable. This particular tally pool (TP), is not and requires something done before have access. So i'd expect some kind of limitation: Accessibility (only when wounded-or when damage someone, -20%).
Something like this.

But, from the other side, every time he uses, he can refill them and uses them again, so i'd expect something like @Refplace said.

If my memory serves me, the basic Tally pool is 5 per 4 CP.

Nope. Basic Tally is free and the level and recovery rate set by the GM as a setting feature.
The recommended standard is Tally 30 with Recovery 8.
Energy Reserve is like a separate FP pool and might be what your thinking of that's 3 character points per point in the ER. It already supports limited usage such as Accessibility, recovery from Leech, etc.
