Default Maltese Duck Price

Simple Question: Can you roll any die for it's price, for example a d100 die times 200 to know the price, and go from level 1 to 9 really easily?

Thanks

Obviously not. The game comes with a six-sided die, and the rules say you need only a six-sided die to play the game. Unless the rules or a card ever say otherwise, you always roll a standard six-sided die that has pips, numbers, or other recognizable symbols representing the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. I would hope that "standard" covered that last bit, but I'm just being extra careful.

I thought so, there is a special card that says any die on the table, don't remember which one now, I would assume that card to be the exception to this rule.

But is always nice to have your answer on written to print and show to people when they are in doubt.

Thanks

Maybe it was referring to Munchkin Quest, since it uses d6s and a d10? Not sure what "any die on the table" would matter in a normal munchkin game, unless it's a promo item that allows you to use other dice from out of the game, but, really, why would that be?

No, that's not what it is referring to. There's nothing saying you can't have other dice on the table, and if a card says you can use any die on the table or in your pocket, that's exactly what it means. Some people use d10s and d20s for tracking level, or two d10s to track combat strength (prior to the Kill-O-Meter's creation). Plus, we're talking about gamers, who always have extra dice.

Perhaps you'll also recall all those people trying to buy a die with only 1's on it? That's specifically for use with the card the Bastian was referring to.

Yep, and it is a darn cool little thing that ended up using nothing more complex than Middle School math.

The thread has officially drifted, and since the official answer was posted almost immediately...
