Default Buried alive - Need Help

So me and my group got ourselves into a bad situation where we are inside a huge cavern and we've basicly shaped our way into the rock floor to escape hundreds of acid (and possibly other types) spiders.

So there we are, Wizard, Cleric, Barbarian and Swashbuckler under 5 ft of stone surviving on create air and trying to plan for our escape.

GM has said the spiders are patient and that there are hundreds of them waiting above. These are Acid Spiders from DF Monsters so they are pretty bad ass.

Any ides are well appreciated.

Can you use the same spell to tunnel underneath the floor?

We are underneath the "floor"

We need to go at least 500 meters through solid rock using Shape Earth (Shape Stone) or Earth to Air (Stone to Air) and according to our calculation this takes either way too long (weeks) or is too expensive mana wise to be a possiblity.

Calculating this for 500 meters it takes 128 castings of Earth to Air to create a tunnel big enough for the barbarian.

Wizard has ER 15 and FP 14 and can cast a 6cy Earth to Air every 15 minutes (Recover Energy and Magical Gloves give him a total of 1/min recovery) and skill 19 in the spell so the casting drains him completely.

What other resources do you have? In particular the cleric and wizard.

If you can generate water and air then why would it matter if it took a few days to tunnel out? A strict GM might call for some kind of sanity roll to see if there is any psychological damage from being trapped underground in a cramped space for an extended period of time, but there doesn't seem to be any logistical problems with tunneling out.

There is a big problem with the Barbarian who is infected with some sort of murder addiction.... This makes any prolonged stay underground a bit risky.
The cleric is a PI4 Cleric of War and the wizard has a wild talent in addition to 50+ spells

It would probably help if you posted your full spell lists and the gear you have at least.

If I understand you correctly, you are under the floor of a cavern full of monsters and you need to travel 500 metres to get out. Is that back to the entrance of the cavern? Is the cavern really more than 500 metres long? That's a really big cavern.

Do you have any way of finding out if there is another space you could tunnel to? Like a cave below this cavern? Seek Air would let you find it.

Failing that and assuming you don't have any way to create enough food and water to keep you alive, you may have to eat acid spiders. Have the mage open a hole barely big enough for one to squeeze in, ambush it and then close the hole again. Or, you know, just kill all the spiders through setting up a perfect ambush position in your hole and closing it off when you need to rest. A stab to the vitals and barbarian hitting it in the face should be enough to seriously mess even one of those things up.

I thought you were really buried alive and thought the SJGames GURPS Forum was the best place to ask for help. Like you called the police already and your family but they all thought it was a prank call and Facebook just landed you a bunch of likes and snarky comments and now this forum is your last chance.

Well, it seems you got plenty of time! Are you getting to know each other well?

Assuming there is a way out, I would:
  1. Ensure survival of the party, prepare them to resist fire, pain, shock, etc.
  2. Approach to the exit and create air with high hydrogen/oxygen concentration (Between 70 and 80 percent hydrogen).
  3. Gather the air into a single point until it is highly pressured. Maybe you can "take 20" here, because you got nothing else to do between providing your party with air and doing this trick.
  4. Let some hydrogen/oxygen fill/transit the areas away from your position.
  5. Let the hi-concentration hydrogen/oxygen mix out and Ignite it with fire; this will result in a big explosion, damaging your foes.
  6. Since you are in a cave, the flames will transit the paths looking for oxygen/hydrogen and these flames will burn all your enemies. However, since you are in a place with a limited supply of air and very little hydrogen you will be OK (your cleric put lots of buffs to protect you).
  7. If the cave is dark, the burnt bodies will provide you with light.
  8. Remember to prepare some oxygen for your party when you leave!

If the GM asks, I would say that someone in your party studied "what makes an explosion". Maybe the mage or the swashbuckler (because swashbucklers might trick you too).

Bugs breathe trough the skin, so they will have horrible issues to breathe once they are burnt.

You will have to take care of the other details, ensuring your are not squished by the rocks, running, finding the escape route...
