Default Question about enchantment costs

ITL 154 notes that the enchantment costs are based on $1 a week for every point of ST per day.

However ITL 60 notes that the cost of living bumps this up to $2 a week.

How exactly do enchanter apprentices avoid the cost of staying alive and does their dead inside state overcome this?

Hi Henry,
I see what you mean. The going rate of an apprentice is either $50/week (pg 60) or $25/week (pg 154).

Looking at the job table (pg 59) we see that the apprentice take home pay is $25/week. That is after living expenses. So, based on this I would say if you are hiring apprentices to do work, you would be paying them the $50/week. And page 154 should be fixed to reflex this.

Also notice the various town wizards on the table (pg 59) get less than the going rate (pg 60), so this too conforms to the difference being living expense. I mean to say that pg 59 and pg 60 are consistent with each other while pg 154 is the outlier (thus the page in error).

I have no idea how to affect changes in the books.

The fix is at Finding Magic Items for Sale ITL 166.

The "standard rate" people will sell enchantments and potions to the players is twice the listed price in the tables.

The "value" that people will pay the players for enchantments and potions is the listed price in the tables.

The "standard rate" for Weapon/Armor enchantment of common gear (swords, not bolas) is the listed price. The "value" that buyers will pay the players for these common items is half the price listed in the tables.

Hi Henry,
I don't see where it says the "standard rate" is twice the listed price. Where is that exactly?

That's the fix that is required. Note how "standard rate" and "value" are used differently on this page.
