Default ADQ&A: Fire and Component Armor

It has to be somewhere, but I checked a bunch of ADQs and didn't find it. Is there an official ruling on whether CA protects from fire? If yes, even humans?

Only $15 from your favorite SJG PDF store. :)

Aw snap! I spent an hour opening ADQ pdfs, scrolling scrolling scrolling, scanning the ADQ&A, and discarding. Turns out it's in the book I've read the most! Thanks!

So what about Fireproof CA?

Does that take damage from fire?

If it does, how is it different from non-FP CA?

You're welcome. Always good to start with the easy sources, but I probably would have done the same thing for some of these questions. Unfortunately I don't own the whole run of ADQ PDFs yet. :(

It pointed out a difference I hadn't noticed too, which was cool to add to that list. (That paragraph isn't in the CWC2s.)

The CWRQ says it does, same as vehicular fireproof plastic armor.

If all you hit are fireproof components you don't take fire mods, just like normal vehicular fireproof plastic armor.

Neither of these have references, and (as mentioned above) I don't have the whole run of ADQ PDFs to make checking a lot easier. :)

Question for the Parody the CW Guru:

Driver with body armor and a safety seat and 10 points of CA takes 20 points of ram damage (ignore other components). What happens?

My friend Ctrl-F says:

So my interpretation is that the CA would eat 10, the safety seat would cut the damage remaining in half to 5, your driver would absorb 3 damage and be paste, and 2 would continue on to whatever's next in line.

I'd concur with this assessment. (Provided that the character doesn't have an obscene number of ranks in Bodybuilding).

I have a related question, if I may. Would there be any reason to take Fire-Retardant Insulators over FP-CA? (for the duration of a typical battle)

I never have. I'd rather have 10 turns for the fire extinguisher to work over the course of a duel, especially under the standard CWC fire rules where fires are immediately internal.
