Monster Movement and Doors

A couple of questions

1) Monster Movement - At first I thought that mosters move by their base color. Then I reread the instructions and it said "Base Color Does Not Effect Monster Movement." So I assume this means you roll for monster movement seperate from their color. But do you roll each monster individually each turn or do all the monsters use the same die roll?

2) Doors - Does opening a door cost a movement? That is, does going through a hidden door or locked door cost 3 movement or 4 movement?
