Modular Abilities Afflicting Conceptual Question
I hope the answer turns out to be simple, but I keep getting into chicken-and-egg analysis when I try to figure this out.
Suppose a character, Wizbob, has Cosmic Modular Abilities and wants to use that to make a power-object (e.g. for simplicity, a Helm of Infravision, that is, the wearer should obtain the Infravision trait). Does Wizbob, (a) Afflict a helmet with Infravision (b) create an infravision ability with gadget modifiers and have the helmet Afflict that on the wearer (c) something else? Thanks for any advice. |

Re: Modular Abilities Afflicting Conceptual Question
Several ways you could go but I would build Affliction (Infravision, gadget limitations) with Persistance.

Re: Modular Abilities Afflicting Conceptual Question
Well, you definitely wouldn't use Persistent. Affliction Advantage already has a duration so you would just use Extended Duration to change it.
If you have an advantage that includes Can Be Stolen, then you also have the ability to give your gadget to someone else (they "steal" it from you). So one way to do this is allocate (not afflict, just allocate from your Modular Ability) Infravision (Can Be Stolen), with the fact that it's this helmet as a feature, then you can hand it off to someone. You'd probably include Breakable too but that's just details. |
