Default Epic?

Some recent threads have made me wonder about what y'all's games look like, so I'm going to post a couple of polls. This is poll #3. As incentive (not that I figure y'all will need it), when these polls close, I'm going to randomly choose one respondent from each poll to get a Munchkin care package.

Please choose carefully; vBulletin doesn't let you change your answer once you've locked it in. And please feel free to use the comment thread to go into more detail about your choice! If the thread starts to drift, I'll be pretty ruthless about cleaning it up, so maybe consider whether your post would do better in its own conversation, especially if you're replying to someone else.

Epic is fun, only tried it a couple of times so far because of time constraints with game nights and schedules. Looking forward to some more of that soon since I'm starting a monthly Munchkin day at my flgs starting next month and Epic will be on the menu.

I play Epic on occasions. I do like Epic games, specially blending, but time is a constant issue that gets in the way of Epic games.

Well, I voted that "I've tried Epic once or twice, but we prefer the standard game", but that's not completely true. Most of the rest of my group prefers it, and I get outvoted most of the time. Too bad, Epic is fun. Only problem seems to be, is that Monster Enhancers end up being pretty much dead cards against anyone epic with Elder(Race) and a few Items.

I answered "Never played Epic" but its not because of lack of interest.

I'm a pretty recent fan of Munchkin, and interested in trying Epic, but my group hasn't gotten around to trying it yet.

This is mainly for two reasons - we really love using the board I got with Munchkin Deluxe, and its much easier to track people's progress. I've been wanting to design my own Epic board, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

And secondly, a couple folk in the group are a little skittish of overly long games. Cthulhu was a bit of a struggle because it seemed to take a really long time, our favourites at the moment are Zombies and Bites - they seemed faster. And the one time we played a 6 player Star Munchkin, we had a player forfeit the game and help somebody else win because we were hitting the two hour mark (and the second reshuffle of the cards).

I think if we tried an Epic game it would probably be Bites with a small group first, and see how it goes.

I've never had a chance to play Epic yet, but I really want to. Whenever I seem to play lately, there's always at least one new guy. It seems I'll need to wait until I've got enough other veterans in a group so that we will have enough time for an Epic round.

I play it occasionally, but due to the fact that most of my games are demos, I haven't had a chance to do it much. I really like it, though.

I've found that by the time we get to Epic levels there are too many rules/powers/abilities etc. to keep track of. Most of the time we lose track of our additional epic powers. Monsters are too easily beaten and we're pretty much ready for a new or different game.

I do play Epic games occationally, mostly with blended games. However, a full Munchkin 1-8 game benefits the extra time and levels in Epic.

Never played Epic. Our regular games were long enough already.
