DF Dwarf Barbarian SM?
In DF (and many other places) a Dwarf is SM-1.
A Barbarian is SM+1 (due to Gigantism) Does this make a Dwarf Barbarian SM 0? Is she now the size of a human? Can a gigantic dwarf exchange armor with a normal-sized human? |

Re: DF Dwarf Barbarian SM?
Dwarf (the DF Race) is SM 0, not -1, btw.
Gnomes are SM-1, so we'll go with that. A Barbarian Gnome (net SM 0) would not fit properly in armor designed for a human IMO, because their builds are very different. A Gnome scaled up is much stockier than a human. To simplify, I'd probably just use the rules on LT103 for "My Armor Doesn't Fit!"-- -1 to DR and -1 to DX while wearing it. Depending on how you assess the build differences, you may assess harsher penalties, including the ability to target Chinks in the Armor at lower penalties. |

Re: DF Dwarf Barbarian SM?
In DF Dwarves are SM 0. They are short and stocky, which means they get the SM +1 for having a shape with two dominant dimensions. Dwarves also have a feature preventing them from sharing armour with humans

Thanks for the corrections and suggestions.
I'm just trying to visualize a giant gnome and a giant dwarf now. |

Think fridge. The quirk Bulky Frame is very appropriate.

Re: DF Dwarf Barbarian SM?
A dwarf may be less than 1.5y tall, but he is bulky, that's why he has SM+0

Re: DF Dwarf Barbarian SM?
I think a SM-0 creature can fit in any unfitted armor as long as it doesn't have odd appendages and such. After all, Humans come in all sorts of shapes and sizes too, and T-shirts get exchanged all the time.
Really depends on the armor being equipped I imagine. Something rigid or tight fitting will have a problem over something loose. Loose chain shirts for example, sure, but plate, probably not. An generally plate is often fitted specifically to whomever is going to wear it in history IIRC. |
