Unkillable (Reincarnation) + Terminally Ill
It seems like a reasonable concept (you're reborn continually, but always die shortly thereafter), but probably not full point value for terminally ill. How would you implement that?
Sample Concept: "I am a spirit of vengeance. I am continually reborn into the bodies of murdered people, at which point I rise from the grave as a draug, hunt down the murderer, and attempt to take vengeance. I have only a limited time to execute vengeance, though, and then the body returns to the grave and I must take on another." Last edited by Anthony; 08-24-2020 at 08:34 PM. |

Figure out what percentage of the time it takes you out of play, how much a similarly disruptive Duty or other 'takes you away from the action sometimes' effect would cost, and take it as a Divine Curse or some other flexibly priced disadvantage at that cost. |

Mitigator on Terminally Ill, -60% maybe -80% depending how fast you reincarnate. Its reducing it to a frequent inconvenience.
Edit: "Doctor, this cancer will kill me in a few days!" "Take two tablets of reincarnation and call me if you don't return to life."

A slightly sillier approach might be to take Dependency (Being Dead; Very Common), with a frequency based on how quickly you want it to kill you. You'd take regular damage while alive but your Unkillable recovery-while-dead would be unhindered.

Terminally Ill means you die permanently (you have to buy it off if you avoid death or come back). A -15 CP Destiny (Short Life) or -15 CP Divine Curse (Short Life) though would work, as it would represent the circumstances that would cause your death. You would also need a substantial undead template unless you are causing the body to regain life.

That's why you make it a rather extreme Duty. They basically have no life except for Vengeance.

Except sometimes they are dead.

Re: Unkillable (Reincarnation) + Terminally Ill
Back in 3e, I had a similar character who possessed the bodies of the recently deceased. I used a combination of the Transference advantage and the Parasite (human corpses) disadvantage.
The 3e>4e conversion guide suggests Transference: To simulate this, use Permeation (Flesh) [5] and Possession Parasitic, -60%) [40] for a total cost of 45 points; and Parasite as Dependency (Host; Constantly, x5).
