That's not the case. Infravision is one of the key abilities of the goblin-kin.

Would allowing it, either starting or as a "Power Up" be terribly unbalancing or against the spirit of GURPS Dungeon Fantasy?
I wouldn't allow it, because that's really horning on the goblin's niche. Every category of races has something unique and special about it. Elves have inborn Magery, goblins have Infravision, halflings have a unique Talent, etc. If you start letting any race take any other race's advantages, you dilute them and make them less interesting, IMO.

I hadn't noticed that. I'm in the process of rereading the DF series, but I'm still on DF2. I tend to reserve Goblin-kin as "bad guys" so I've paid a bit less attention to them.

Perhaps a better idea would be to give them "cat's eyes" - Night Vision 5. That would mean they could work without penalty in the equivalent of moonlight. Feels about right, and won't bankrupt you.

Also, Infernals have Dark Vision, Gnomes and Catfolk and Dwarves have Night Vision, and I'm sure I've missed others. There's actually quite a bit of funky vision floating around, it's just not assigned according to how D&D assigns it.

I'd let catfolk buy Vibration Sense for their whiskers (and I have in the past, actually, although it was a Catfolk Thief so it was extra appropriate). Coleopterans, too - sensitive antennae or feelers ;)

I guess I just haven't read close enough.
