Spaceships 9
Spaceships 9 will be Traveller Spaceships right? Natural progression from Spaceships 8 :D

Re: Spaceships 9
Pulver did an article in JTAS about using Spaceships in Traveller. However, instead of giving firm rules, he offered a few different ways that you could retain certain tropes of the setting. I have some thoughts of my own on the topic here. (Note that my rules there adapt some of David's, but only based on what he posted in these forums; nothing that appeared only in the JTAS article appears on that page.)

Re: Spaceships 9
Thanks for the reply. Yep, read David's article and your web page, both much appreciated.
I guess I'm hinting because I'm time poor and don't want to do the work myself – more than happy to pay for it however. Anyway, I'll continue to hope. :) Thanks again. |

On the other hand I would quickly buy two ~8 USD e23-PDFs named "Spaceships 9: Traveller Starships" and "Milieu 1117 for GURPS Fifth Edition" (aka "Changing Times" for Traveller). It doesn't make sense in a purely "words of content per dollar" context, but it is they way I spend my RPG budget. Just as one data point for market analysis ;-) |

Re: Spaceships 9
I'd rather hope for something for GURPS Fourth Edition than something for an edition that may never happen.

Re: Spaceships 9
I'm chiming in to this thread as I would like to see a GURPS Spaceships release for Traveller. If enough people show interest it might provoke the powers that be into making it happen.

Re: Spaceships 9
If SJGames is going to continue to support GURPS TRAVELLER, one E23 type project worth considering is finishing the progressions started with GURPS TRAVELLER INTERSTELLAR WARS so that up to Traveller TL 15 can be supported. I honestly don't think that will happen however.

Re: Spaceships 9
to the OP: I asked much the same question not long after SS8 was released. Kromm replied with something along the lines of, "we'd love to, but the license prevents us from taking those kinds of liberties with the material".
Of course, that doesn't prevent people from doing their own conversions and sharing them here. ;)

Re: Spaceships 9
Ah, that explains it. Well, it's a shame. I've seen the couple of conversions posted here, and glad someone has done them. Unfortunately I'm of that age where I don't have the time to put into doing more...
Thanks for the explanation. |
