Default [HT][UT] Good sourcebook for going tacticool?

Heya all!

So the GURPS High Tech and Ultra Tech are nice for guns, but don't have much in the way of going Tacticool. And by tacticool I mean going wild with weapon mods and accessories. Sure, there are scopes and targeting lasers and flashlights and bayonets and underbarrel grenade launchers, but what if I want a rubber grip on my AK-47? What if I want an expanded mag on my Storm Carbine? Replace the standard issue stock on an M16 by a custom made collapsible one? (and don't tell me that one isn't practical, like being impractical has ever stopped someone from going tacticool.)

Any good books for that? Thanks!

Tactical Shooting has lots of the stuff. High Tech also has most of what you're looking for: Extended Magazines on HT155 could be used with UT just fine, and folding stocks are on HT160. The rubber grip doesn't actually do anything except potentially justify a Weapon Bond, which I believe is discussed in TS. (Tactical Shooting p69 in fact.)

There are also some interesting modifications in Pulp Guns. Many, maybe all, are reproduced in Tactical Shooting.

I'm pretty sure Gun-Fu goes into tacticool a bit more. Might want to see what options are there.

Check out Tactical Shooting. "Tactical Shooting: Tomorrow" in Pyramid #3/55 also has a lot of relevant info. The stuff in Gun Fu is (obviously) more cinematic, but might also be interesting.

Cheers

Don't forget Odious Personal Habit (telling everyone in detail about his favourite brands of kit), Hobby Skill/Current Affairs (firearms industry trivia), negative Reputation ("Poser/mall ninja/..." serious shooters who interact with him, all the time), and the disadvantage which makes you compulsively spend money on something, in this case the latest slightly different firearms and accessories and modifications.

There are endless website and magazines with lists of options which are mostly either "no game effect" or equivalent to a generic entry in a GURPS publication.

Agreed. For example, the OP's "rubber grips" would likely have no actual effect on the gun's stats, being under the level of resolution in regards to ergonomic grips on firearms.

If someone really pressed the issue, I might allow a +1 to Retain Weapon for good ones.

Or possibly serve to justify the 'weapon bond' perk with the gun you have completely tricked out. You're better with it because you know everything it can do, and installed all this stuff yourself, and its just the way you like it.
