[QUOTE=tHEhERETIC;1179127]Corat finds each of you, Sunae, Mitchim, Ash, and Zahirah, wherever you might be. While he's no Cherub, once he knows where to look he's unerring in getting there. He hands you an envelope, nice white paper, copper-colored coating on the inside. A formal invitation.

"Hey." While he's still fast and restless, Corat is no longer quite as hyper as he used to be. Switching from Wind to War has moderated him a bit, at least in that department. "He didn't have an address for you, so I told him I'd deliver them." When you open the envelopes you find they are announcements for a graduation--Ryuki has completed his Master's in Economics. In lieu of an invitation to the graduation itself, you are invited to a small party at the office, 4pm Friday. Seeing your disappointment, Corat explains.

"He's not going to the cap-and-gown thing--kind of a long story there. But first there'll be a celebration at the office, then we and the family and one or two close friends will walk down to the Watari home for a private celebration. Here's the address; here's a map in case you need one." He's barely stifling laughter at that last comment--he enjoys not needing maps.

"Any questions?"

OOC: Sorry for the lateness

IC: Mitch is at his shop in LA and accepts the invitation with a smile "Thanks for stoping by. I should be able to make it. How's War treating you? Seem to be in a chipper mood."

"I'm good--yeah. Calm is not a bad way to live, plus I've got twelveish friends I can finally be level with. It's awkward for some, but mostly they're too busy to take issue with it.
"But War, yeah. Focus is underrated. Obviously I'm still working on that," he adds, noticing that he still meanders when he talks.

Alas, Friday afternoon finds the Tradewinds virtually under siege. A bunch of toughs loiter near its entrance, making it clear that you're not going to leave until they give the word. The police aren't much help--the toughs leave until the cops are out of sight, and then they're back again. One big scary guy hangs out near the back door, and when you try to leave that way he just says "Calabite. Wanna try me?"
At six pm they leave as mysteriously as they came. A quick call to Rina-el tells the same story--some tough guys hanging around, coming and going for no apparent reason.
And so, Mitchim misses the graduation party.

The next day, he takes a trip out to Mount Diablo on the East Bay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Diablo) ... from what he can tell after scouring some maps and tourist pamphlets, that seems the most likely spot for him to attract David's attention. As soon as he finds a quiet spot, he sets himself down, pulls out the guitar and begins to play softly, attempting to invoke David as he does.

If that fails, he'll continue the tune and try for Eli instead ... one pamphlet mentioned that the local tribes considered this the point from which the world was created, so the Artist might be keeping an ear out.
"You know," a voice comes from around the peak, speaking between breaths, "this would be a lot easier from the bottom of the mountain." He comes into sight, looking for all the world like a scruffy and out-of-shape John Goodman. Yet looks are deceiving; his presence hums of archangel, and if there was any doubt which one the cloud of happily feeding mosquitoes sets that to rest. Especially since mosquitoes aren't known for breeding in January on mountaintops, and they generally only feed on humans when they're breeding. He leans over, hands on knees, and pants to catch his breath. After a couple of false starts he speaks again.

"But, I suppose, that's why David wanted me to answer this. Said I should get in shape, which is his way of saying I should pick my vessels more carefully. Hey, at least I remember clothes most of the time."

He scratches himself, careful not to hurt the mosquitoes, and looks at Kane, resisting the urge to grab the guitar and 'tune' it. "So, did you get the Squeaky Hammer?"

Zahira, dressed in a nice skirt and blouse- the kind of thing you would expect for a visit to this kind of bank would show up and smile at Ryuki's father's secretary. "Hello, I was hoping that when his schedule has a free moment I could speak with Ryukawa"

After returning home to her apartment, Ida heads straight to her computer and fires off an email Upstairs "Boss - item was apparently last seen in the possession of a demon, probably in Hell."

She then gets to work fixing the Laptop, which will take a couple of hours, she then spends the rest of the night tinkering with various other projects, and will arrive back at the bank with the laptop at around 10 am the next morning. This is all assuming Jean doesn't contact her for more details and nothing else plot-related happens. If it does, I will edit this post later.

One of the waiters lets Sunae know that one of the customers would like to speak to the cook before he orders. He's described as a friendly guy with a shaved head and dark green eyes.

The Hunan is usually slow between the dinner and the late night crowd, and tonight is no exception.

(The secretary's name is Nicole, BTW)
Nicole hems and haws a minute, seeming to consider. She types a couple of things into her console and then asks Zahirah, "What is this regarding?" She's friendly but trying to give the impression that you're not just asking for a muffin here.

Jean fires back a brief e-mail. "'Apparently'? Remember, bad data in, bad data out."

(No plot plotted for that time period. I don't mind you showing up at the bank office at the same time Zahira is there.)

That same friendly smile, "I wished to speak to him about a friend that I believe could assist him with some trouble he spoke to me about earlier."

Nicole gives a slight frown--awfully vague answer, and not from someone she's used to getting vague answers from. She types into the console a little more, waits, types, waits. Finally she gets her answer. "Yes, he'll see you now."

She buzzes open the door and escorts you to an office door. A couple knocks and you hear him say "Ohairi kudasai" and Nicole opens the door. She bows briefly, and leaves you there.

It's a nice office--ironically not as spacious as his son's. It's less a parlor like Ryuki's and more a command center, an extra desk for a trio of computer monitors in addition to the one he sits behind. He gets up and holds out a chair for Zahirah, across the desk from his own. "What can I do for you?" It's a stock phrase; his manners are polite but impersonal.

It's clear even to the casual observer that he is far more reserved than Ryuki, and that his warmth and conviviality the evening before was heavily influenced by alcohol and circumstance. He is now the dragon sitting on his gold.

((nonbumpiness, GM note---Andygal. If Ida were to show up right about now, it wouldn't be too difficult to discover that Zahirah's inside--any objections alexondria? And given that, and what your resonances gave you, it might not be a bad idea to txt Zahirah and ask her if she wants the benefit of those resonances.
I try not to coach, but there it is this time.)

(no objection)

Zahirah would smile at him, "I hope I'm not over stepping my place, but I couldn't help thinking about the trouble you were mentioning last night. It seems to me that perhaps their might be a way for you to restructure your business in a way to help you come out ahead in this mess. I know that I don't understand business as well as many, but if you will give me leave to speak to someone else I know someone that I believe might be able to help you."

A look of condescension crosses his face briefly--blink and you miss it--but you were meant to see it. "Ms...." he realizes he doesn't know your last name, "thank you for your concern. This is one of those possibilities one prepares for in this business. We have safeties in place and, while we will have to make sacrifices, we will survive."

He softens, ever so slightly. "I am careful who I discuss my business with. Who is this person you would speak to, and what would he want in return for his help?"
