How to: Power removes pain.
I need to develop a power called Succor.
It deadens all pain for (some time ~4 hours) and grants a bonus of +1 to +3 to the subject's next HT roll to recover HP. I would like it to do nothing more than this. I'm thinking of doing this: Succor 12 points Affliction [10 / level] (Beneficial no opposed roll required (See Power p. 42) +15% *Advantage: Blessed (Heroic Feats) (See B40) +18% **Advantage: High Pain Threshold (See B59) +100% Malediction (B106) -20% Sense Based (touch, limitation) (See B109, Powers p. 105) -100% Takes Extra Time (10 seconds) *Blessed: Heroic Feats, +1d HT (15 points) +50% Delay; Triggered by HT roll to recover HP (B105) **High Pain Threshold (18 points) +80% Extended Duration x 100 (B105) normally a beneficial Advantage would last for 1 minute per MOS on the opposed roll. there is no opposed roll so it would just be MoS on the Will Roll for the performer x 100 minutes? Seems a little costly and cumbersome for what I want it to do. Figured someone could do it better. Thanks :) |

Hi. FYI, "Succor" is the name of a path magic spell that increases rate of healing. Path magic also has a pain relief spell called Soothe.

Buying HPT with Affects Others would cost more. That said, in a campaign where appropriate pharmacology exists, an Accessory perk could do the same thing for 1 point. I'm not sure how Accessory works for consumables, but based on the cost of a big bottle of Tylenol at Costco, I reckon you can assume as many doses as necessary. HPT is definitely useful in combat, so yeah, the limitation is fair. However I think it doubles each level, so for -100% you get 512 seconds, about 8½ minutes.
