Item Enhancers on one-shots
Can you play an item enhancer on a usable once only item? Specifically, can you play "of my Grandfather" on a usable once only item? This just came up in a game. I let it go because the game would have been over if I hadn't allowed it, and anyway, I won. But I still want to know, was playing the Pretty Balloons (or something) of my Grandfather a legal move?

Re: Item Enhancers on one-shots
I've encountered this before and ruled it good for the game. As for whether that jibes with the official ruling... I searched and searched in the past and just now with "item enhancer" as the keyword and I can't find a ruling in rules, FAQ, or munchkin forums. As long as the item enhancer doesn't say it affects only headgear, etc., I would reckon that an in-play one-shot item that gives a combat bonus (albeit for one combat) fits the definition of what an item enhancer can be played on.
I would be interested to see the official ruling. It just occurred to me I never looked in munchkin 101, so caveat. Last edited by Argendauss; 12-28-2016 at 01:36 PM. Reason: Faulty autocorrect |

Re: Item Enhancers on one-shots
As long as the one-shot fits the criteria on the Item Enhancer (usually just "an Item that gives a combat bonus"), then you may play the enhancer if you wish, but you must play it at the same time you play the one-shot. After a one-shot is played, it can't be enhanced anymore.

Re: Item Enhancers on one-shots
Could you play the Enhancer on a One-Shot item that you are carrying?

Note that I am not saying it's a good idea.
