Re: Hex map table at Ikea
The hexes are 1 inch, and the table is very heavy. But I like mine. :-)

Re: Hex map table at Ikea
I prefer the acrylic tiles I got from impudentmortal.com. He makes them with 1" hexes as well as the new 1.5" format and the individual tiles (about 10x10 inches) can be more flexibly arranged to suit my needs. Much lighter too.

That's nifty! And I guess you could write on the table with wax pencils or such, too.

Re: Hex map table at Ikea
The Ikea pics look like the hex grid is not aligned with the table edge -- so if you put two of them side by side, they wouldn't match up. Is that in fact the case? Or could you get two to make a ~5' square table with a consistent grid? (Say, because the angle just happens to match up?)

Are the acrylic tiles with the 1.5” hexes still available? I could not find anything like that at the web store for impudentmortal.com.

Assuming he still has a decent stock of acrylic on hand, prices should match what was offered during his Kickstarter (that's where I got my original set). Tiles of Adventuring: Tabletop Grid System, via @Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...op-grid-system P.S. I have no financial connection to Impudent Mortal. I'm just a fan of the products and Walt seems like good guy.

"We do still make them, you can see your prices and options from the original Kickstarter but we don't carry the clear acrylic any more. However if you would like to order we can pick some up but it won't be in until the middle of July. Also if you are not in the US the shipping will probably be as much as the tiles." https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...?ref=user_menu Last edited by Frumious; 06-18-2019 at 11:38 AM. |
