Build your own weapons with new GURPS toy
Hi all. Long time no lurk.
I'd like to introduce a new toy for GURPS players: the GLAIVE Mini weapon builder system. My detailed GLAIVE rules for designing low-tech weapons in GURPS (and d20, thanks to a reader contribution) have been online for years. In addition to its full rules, GLAIVE included a super-cheap'n'quick alternative system that was little more than a suggestion to read weight and damage right off of GURPS' Size and Speed/Range Table. The other day I decided to break off that cheap mini-system and give it its own page – but playing around, found that a bit of polish turns it into a competent little design system. That's the new GLAIVE Mini. It remains based on the super-simple idea of plucking damage from the Size and Speed/Range Table, but now covers weapon ST too. It recreates most Basic Set weapons with no change, while also building crazy-big axes or custom swords in seconds. All on one PDF page, with some nice extras on a bonus page (including an option for semi-balanced weapons like heavy chopping swords or light polearms). As with all the other offerings at the Games Diner, GLAIVE Mini is fan-made and free, has zero "official" status, is uncertified by any self-respecting Board of Health, and welcomes your critique. Have fun – http://www.gamesdiner.com/glaive_mini

Looks nice! :)
I'll get back to this, when I'm restarting my "Power-Plüsch"-Game, maybe next year... (the characters are evil, undead stuffed animals :P) |
