Balseraphs and Machines

Does the resonance of a Balseraph give it any advantage in trying to get the snack machine to give it credit for putting in a dollar if the Balseraph puts in a plain piece of paper?

Do Balseraphs of Tech have anything likely to help with that?

My knee-jerk reaction is no; I'd say the resonance only works on anything with a Perception score.

(That'd raise the question of whether it works on Remnants, of course. I remember Perception-based resonances don't work on them, but I don't recall whether Will-based resonances have any problem with them.)

I believe Will-based Resonances work on Remnants, but a machine has never had even the smidgen of Celestial or Ethereal Forces, so I agree -- a Balseraph would not be able to use its resonance on an inanimate object unless it had a special Attunement for that. (I'm thinking of Balseraphs of Nybbas, actually...)

Meanwhile, any non-Tech snake should just look for the nearest mortal and ask them if they "have change for a $20?" (the blank piece of paper)... >;-)

But, yeah, it was an interesting question. Gives a whole bunch of related, spin-off questions, too...

* Can balseraphs get a mirror or other reflective surface to "lie" about their own or anyone else's reflection?

* What about cameras (old fashioned film ones; modern day digital ones; etc.)? Especially cameras used for security or surveillance? Traffic enforcement?

* (And so on...)

Yup. And claiming that when they get iHell working, Vapula will be obsolete.
