Mate + Henchmonster + Illusion = confusion!
Okay so here's the story.
We are all neck to neck at level 9. Player A kicks down the door and fights a level 12 monster. Knowing he would win if I don't do something, I played the Mate card. After that, Player A plays the Henchmonster card, which he claimed takes one of the Level 12 monsters that just mated. We started to bicker. Along comes Player B with an illusion card, followed by the Level 20 Plutonium Dragon. He claimed that the plutonium dragon gets copied over the mate card. This is where it all got confusing an he ends up killing the dragon FTW. It bothers me that I messed up in my logic somewhere in this final battle. HELP! |

First off, when your friend played the Henchmonster card, he did it right. The mate becomes his ally. When the illusion/Platinum Dragon cards got played, your previously played mate card should have had no effect.
I had a hard time following the rest of your scenario, but that's my two cents. Last edited by Dealmaker777; 05-26-2014 at 01:59 PM. |

Re: Mate + Henchmonster + Illusion = confusion!
I'm fairly certain we covered this earlier, or at least in similar situations, and the Mate always keeps duplicating the other Monster, since that's the least amount of book keeping. So, if the player took the Mate, then the Mate becomes the same as the other Monster once it's hit with Illusion. It's dangerous to not take the Mate, because then if someone played Illusion on that, then it definitely becomes a different Monster.
And, I'm stating this as official, not just an opinion. |
