My info is outdated, then. Happens a lot. Planetary sciences, anyone?

A lot would have to go right for it to work, of course, and if it were EASY it'd have been done successfully already. The point of the article was more that the increases in energy that are implied in the Ultra-Tech book are not impossibly optimistic.

I'd dispute this. Ultra-Tech's firearm options aren't anywhere near as extensive as High-Tech's, it's true, so there are some clear gaps in the former's coverage, but where UT does offer stats for a weapon, they're generally better than the HT equivalent. For example, the Assault Carbine in UT is better than any HT weapon of comparable weight and Bulk. And the Anti-Materiel rifle is essentially a better Browning .50 rifle.

Updated the spec entries on page 1. Feel free to guess away on the new DF Denizens item.

My money would be on Thieves and Martial Artists. The thief seems to get short shrift for having few ‘cool things’ and martial artists always need help to compete in a more realistic system.

Both would be good. Clerics and Mages get lots of love in earlier DF books.
I would love to see a dedicated Thief book for the main line. There was a thief based RPG in the 80s that was interesting and GURPS could easily do something better.

I think stealth is an under represented aspect of RPGs, so a Thief book could have quite a lot of general application for a wider audience.

At some point, GURPS Classic: Villains was added.

Yep, I noted it on the first post of the thread. I mean everyone checks that daily right?<s>
