There are barbarians at my gate!
Cheeky title kinda gives it away...Drew's sponsored counter set showed up last night and all I can say is 'wow'. Money well spent, and after reading through the booklet I should really pick up another so that the friend getting one for his birthday can play all the variants too.
The love, care, and attention that went into that booklet is top-notch...if I knew nothing else about him, that'd be enough to make me say "Yeah, makes sense they offered him the Line Editor position."

It really is a great addition to the game. Well done, Drew. :)

Re: There are barbarians at my gate!
Thanks, guys.
It was a lot of fun to write and develop. Glad you're enjoying it! D.

Are those the units that I skinned? I think they are, and I thought they were included with the Designer's Edition, but I must confess that I'm not sure… I don't recall any booklet, though.

Quote:
If it was the counters everyone got to put their name on that would've been the Black Rose Battalion (green Combine units with yellow/gold stripes), which was included with ODE. This one is the tiger-striped Sons of Old Nassau, the purple-and-yellow Vatican Guard, and the pink Anarchist Relief Front, which included a book of additional rules, new units, new terrain, and new scenarios.

Re: There are barbarians at my gate!
I concur that this is an excellent addition/expansion. My buddy and I played Grace Under Pressure a couple of weeks ago, and it was a blast. We allowed the Battlefields counters, and it was REALLY tough on VG/ARF when the Sons get a bunch of GEVs. I can hardly wait to either replay the scenario yet again or try some of the other BATG scenarios.
BTW, I rarely have the opportunity to play, so I obsessed over which scenario among all available GEV/OGRE scenarios to play before settling on Grace Under Pressure. Well done, Drew! |

Yeah, that's the stuff I did for Drew. (The counters, anyway. I didn't do the book.) And man, those tiger stripes were a pain, but they were worth it. Definitely my favorite.
