A magic item can cross if a non-magical creature propels it. Utter Walls and Utter Domes don't stop regular guys shooting magic arrows through or poking magic spears in. It's usually a blind attack, though.

Hmm, so I can strike with my Staff enchanted weapon through any Utter Wall. That seems legit. That raises the question of what happens to spells cast using a wand/rod/staff poked through said wall.

I think the Utter Dome is supposed to resist penetration by those things also. That's the way we've played it, and it seems like a reasonable interpretation of the intent.
