Re: bending stereotypes
That would be Kelemvor, from the Forgotten Realms setting.

Re: bending stereotypes
People with eccentric hobbies aren't creepy.

Re: bending stereotypes
Well yes. But a lot of people on tv whose hobby is not inherently creepy(something like pickling pieces of your murder victims say) are treated as creepy because their hobby is unusual.

And pickling is just a sensible method of preservation. It's not like many cannibals have the time and space to air dry man-meat. ;)

Re: bending stereotypes
Doesn't even need to be that unusual. Detail oriented hobbies like stamp collection are usually treated as lazy shorthand for "meticulous but hopelessly out of touch with reality"

Hollywood loves to use hobbies as shorthand for character traits. Chess? Smart. Golf? Rich. Books? Nerd.

Re: bending stereotypes
I actually met someone like that. The effect was like-me trying to be a star athlete. But the amazing thing was how hard he tried.

Here's some other ideas. A fashionista who is not a stupid valley girl, is not trolling for boys, and is not absurdly vain but pays attention to her looks because that's just as good a hobby as any other. A video gamer who is a full grown adult and does not act like a manchild either. A surfer-dude, or surfer-gal who is highly intelligent and can quote Aristotle in the original.
