Recommended Reading…?
So I just acquired this little treasure via eBay…
Analog, November 1969 …and now I'm curious to know what other inspirational reading material I should be looking for. |

Re: Recommended Reading…?
A novel I read last year: Roger Zelazny's 'Roadmarks'; published in 1979.
Synopsis can be found on Wikipedia. An encounter in one of the chapters is distinctly Ogre-flavored... |

Keith Laumer's Bolo series, of course.

You've probably got some money up there in the attic, if you want to bother to pursue it.

Re: Recommended Reading…?
I think I've already got all of the Hammer's Slammers books (I was fortunate enough to discover them many years ago, when there was still just one book), but I'm not sure. I'll have to find a definitive list somewhere.
And I have read the first of the Bolo books, but none of the others. |

What you've got there is a different, much broader category — old SF magazines in general — which is also appealing, but taking even one glance at what you're likely to have would probably bankrupt me. ;) Of course, if you can bear to part with them (I'm not sure that *I* could), you could probably get quite a lot for that collection on eBay. |

Re: Recommended Reading…?
I'm pretty sure I actually have that book — I looked it up, and the cover art gave me a flashback — but it's been a long time since I read it. I'll have to excavate it, and read it again.

I second the recommendations for Hammers Slammers (David Drake is a local author for me) and anything Bolo. I have a 6 or 7 volume short story collection, and a few novels by Keith Laumer and others. I like the idea of hoplessly noble cybertanks. :) |
