Given the timing of the release, I would expect information to start flowing again in the April-May time-frame.

The Report to the Stakeholders for 2016 is out. It appears we won't have to worry about Car Wars 6E coming out this year, as it's no longer on their list of Priorities.

We realized that splitting our focus among so many projects was delaying all of them. Unfortunately, Car Wars was one of the things we temporarily moved to the side. The good news is that Munchkin Shakespeare is moving very well, the Dungeon Fantasy RPG is in prepress (one of the last stages before print), and Ogre Minis are also chugging along, so there's a good chance bandwidth will free up soon for some of these stalled projects.

The better news was that Car Wars was in pretty good shape before we set it aside, and I suspect it will charge ahead, guns blazing, once we rededicate some attention to it.

Yeah, we're plenty happy playing our variation of the CWC2.5/UACFH rules. :)

That's good to hear. While I may not personally like the ideas we'd seen so far, I still want to see the results and hope it succeeds even if our group doesn't decide to play it.

So when will this get picked back up? Car Wars 6E is starting to look like vaporware.

Well, not technically. They say finishing ODE commitments is one of their two priorities, and Car Wars kickstarter was a achieved stretch goal on ODE.

Now if only rules lawyering had traction IRL...

Amen.

I really need 6th to come through. I can't fall back on just playing earlier editions, because I can't get the lazy scrubs here to play anything that requires tinkering. If it doesn't have a pretty new box and easy rules they won't look at it.

Calling people "lazy scrubs" probably isn't the right way to convince them to try something. "Grab and play" is a perfectly valid style of gaming.
