Default Put your favorite OGRE/GEV miniatures photos here...

Don't go all hog wild and post a dozen or something - just maybe your top 5 favorites.
Here are mine:
Boardgamegeeks best OGRE/GEV map with miniatures (IMO).
Dang nice paint jobs on these OGREs!
This is not a map or anything but - dang - I WANT! You have to check out his blog as well!
This guy almost has as many OGRES as I do. I will probably lay out all my miniatures on a piece of metal as they all have a neodymium magnet under each one so I can do this.
Lastly this spread of miniatures is just delicious to any collector! Check out his blog here. He has some really cool stuff!
Have a memorable memorial day. My father is a veteran of the Vietnam way (helicopter pilot off the Kitty Hawk). I used to wear his flight suit AND helmet on Halloween when I was a teenager. Coolest Halloween costume ever - I felt like a GEV pilot (yes I did think that as I played OGRE as a kid) - hah!

Hey, I recognize that last pic!

Actually I just finished up another batch recently. Here's a link to some of them:

Is that your blog? I love it! I am going to make a series for my blog on unique Science Fiction units based on OGRE/GEV using resin cast molding. I am going to try to make unique OGRES like Nihon and Russian OGRES. I might even make an Israeli one.
Do you use any masking techniques or stenciling? Do you use any decals? What do you use for the undercoat? What brand of paints do you use?
I know so many questions.
I do like the main battery barrel accents on your OGRES. What color paint is that?

I HAVE to put in greyhawk grognard's OGRE miniatures project (all 4 parts) here. It is insightful and informative to those who are thinking of starting their own private army...
The Ogre Project, Part I - Inventory
The Ogre Project, Part II - Assembly
The Ogre Project, Part III - Base Coat
The Ogre Project, Part IV - Playable Armies
Enjoy!

So many questions, lol.

No masking used on mine, I'm a pretty basic painter.

I always use Krylon flat black for primer, I prefer ultra flat back, but of course it's impossible to find now.

If the mini is going to be light colored I usually give it a shot of Krylon grey over the black. No decals, although I have thought about it. Maybe someday. I'm not sure I want to put decals on a few thousand vehicles.

My Paneuropean forces are base coated in Krylon Banner Red, the Combine are True Blue. I wanted a Basic paint scheme that ties each force together.

I use basic craft paints for detailing, Apple Barrel, Anita's, that sort of thing. I pick them up at Hobby Lobby when they are on sale for less than a buck. I do have to thin them usually, they are pretty thick out of the bottle. I use washes sometimes, and dry brush a lot to bring out the details.

My Ogre main batteries are painted metallic copper, craft paint again.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

I like the Huscarl Mark V concept. I never thought about the Paneuros doing away with the tower. With all the forest in the region of Europe I thought a tower would be quite useful. Maybe it's retracted? I like the way you put all the guns 'at attention'. Very creative. :)
Soon I will be done putting small neodymium magnets on my OGRES barrel roots and at the beginning of each secondary and main cannon barrel so I can remove them during battle as well as that in moving them no barrel accidentally gets snapped off.

Hey man - that GEV you made here - maybe putting a silver paint on the duct fans... Love the army paint scheme - awesome. I love looking at the paint schemes of others to get ideas.

I just finished up the first batch of Ogre Minis that I've painted in almost 20 years. Definitely a nice trip down memory lane while painting!

Can't wait for SJG to spin up the mini range again!
