Extra attack gives extra "Attack maneuver". Does it include a step?

It was recently pointed out to me that on B54, it is explicitly stated that Extra Attack grants an extra Attack maneuver.

MA126 clarifies that it only helps when starting with an attack-type manuever, and an entry in the official FAQ states that extra attack doesn't count as a "maneuver selection".

With all that, the Attack maneuver allows a step, so does Extra Attack give an additional step with its additional maneuver? I'd appreciate any references (Books, FAQ, uFAQ, Kromm post, etc) that support your interpretation, or even just your line of reasoning.

That's an unfortunate case of the early text not really following its own terminology ("maneuver" had a different and somewhat inconsistent meaning in 3e, which I suspect was mistakenly carried over in that paragraph). Extra Attack just means that any maneuver that would normally allow X attacks instead allows X+1.

Where X is not 0. I'd love to have an extra attack on a do nothing maneuver!

I'd feel a lot better about paying 25CP for an extra attack if it allowed me to do a Ready maneuver with an attack.

Chambara rules allow trading your Extra Attack for Extra Step.

Without those, Extra Step costs 25

That's a different thing but using Alternative Abilities to reduce one to 1/5 cost, I think it would cost 30 to be able to do either?

"Extra Attack or Ready or Step" alternative abilities should cost 35 then, I think?
