That would change the tone of the bio-pic, wouldn't it? Rom-com? Nope, stalker-horror.

Could be good inspiration for a fantasy setting too.
Cool. An acid-filled lake in a crater choked with poisonous fumes, next to a mountain burning blue with brimstone at night, where miners labor for strange ingredients in arcane recipes? Yeah, I can see some fantasy potential there. :^)

She had several. Follow the link and read for yourself.

I've always made wonderful use of a National Geographic subscription. The images of the most staggering geography, from beaches to forests to mountain tops inspired many a Random Encounter Trek.

The players would call shenanigans at my description. I'd pull out the issue and show them Reality. They'd look as forlorn as a defendant when a lawyer produces the smoking gun and psych themselves for the situation.

(Physically unlikely, if not impossible, to read thru 78 pages of comments. So, sorry if mentioned.)

Hans
I was speaking specifically of her nun-to-be.

With all what? De Maupin's first girlfriend returned to her family after three months on the road with her. The escapade was presented publicly as a kidnapping (by a man) and De Maupin's imaginary male self was sentenced to death, a sentence later commuted by the king after she made some of the right connections.

Did anyone write down the contents?

Meanwhile, there's a museum in London that started with an 18th-century collection of anatomical curiosities. If your ritual magician needs a thylacine spleen, a cod gall-bladder or a porpoise aorta, this is clearly his first stop.

They also have half of Charles Babbage's brain; the other half is a few miles away in the Science Museum. Clearly the two must never be allowed to meet again! The mid-point between the two is in a hotel in Mayfair...

Actually she wasn't a postulant although De Maupin posed as one to get to her. She was just being held by the nuns away from the world. Nunneries made handy upper class prisons for troublesome girls.

Indiana-Jones-ish lost city? Check.
Found by LIDAR / LADAR? Check.
