Ten wheels, or eight wheels?

The wheels on the two rear axles are doubled up, so it's got 2 wheels in the front and eight in the rear. Best picture I can find showing that.

In case of confusion, there was a 6x4 and 8x8 SdKfz 231, built on the same basic hull but with quite different suspension. Also, the front of the 6x4 became the back of the 8x8.

Six wheels. To save time when writing up vehicles, I use a similar vehicle. In this case, the BA-10 ... which had 10 wheels. Fixed.

Hmm. It had been a mistake on my part but seeing that picture now I wonder ...

Yeah. I would personally have written it up as six, and assumed that the double rear wheels were just part of what made it off-road wheels, but I figured that was your reasoning. Of course, you've made a lot more vehicles than I have. Barring an official rule turning up somewhere, I'd likely follow your lead.

I think the double wheels count as two wheels each; while I don't have an official GURPS vehicle to point to, an "18 wheeler" truck counts each double wheel separately.

Also, I thought we were talking about this:

Right. I should have looked at more photos and not just at the 6x4 designation. I'll fix the write-up.

That's in Iron Cross. It was the result of the poor off-road performance of the earlier SdzKfz 231.
