Default Rites for the Angel of Banking

There isn't currently a way of investing essence, and the ability to store it is limited. So there is a lot of potential for an Angel of Banking to improve things. Consider the combination of:

Worship Rite: Spend an hour getting your finances in order

and

Rite: Make the decision to withdraw 1 essence previously invested by the worship Rite [+2 for decision to remove 2, +3 for decision to remove 3].

This would be incredibly useful for angels who have a lot of downtime between crises, but who need a way to acquire more in the middle of combat.

So long as the Angel of Banking spends most of his time in an attuned Tether, he can send the essence to Marc, ensuring that the Word of Trade profits nicely from this system.

Acquiring the Rites shouldn't cost cp, as they'd be handed out freely - however having essence available should. So an angel who has spent no cp on these Rites would start every session with nothing in the bank, each cp spent would mean one withdrawable essence per session.

Even mundanes in the service of Trade would be able to acquire the Worship Rite, establishing a nest egg for when they reach Heaven.

If I understand correctly, one can send messages and Essence into Limbo, but one can't send anything out until one is ready to leave altogether - so one wouldn't be able to deposit Essence via the worship rite or withdraw it via the "normal" rite.

[Blinks] The rules on p79 of H&H...don't mention Rites. Nor could I find anything in the faq!

I assume that they won't work, given nothing else does, but can't find anything canon to support that.

Of course, the way to get essence in Limbo is a Geased Impudite.

Well, how do Rites work in your game?

In mine, they create a connection between the performer and the Rite-granter, allowing the performer to tap the granter's Essence. That requires the ability to communicate intent to create the connection - thus, they won't work in Limbo because no outbound communication is possible.
