I too enjoy guns in my games.
Some solutions:

Re: Dragon guano
What about summoned dragons?
Do they always come with an empty stomach? Would poop from a summoned dragon disappear when the dragon does? I'm guessing not -- I wouldn't think a summoned being's saliva would disappear... |

Re: Dragon guano
"Arrows from Summon Myrmidon vanish when the spell expires."
"Well that answers that." Except, it really doesn't answer that. I can see that for the sake of simplicity and not having things come back on you later it would be quicker to just state, anything that came with a summoned being or separated from it while it was present vanishes with it when the spell ends. All the rules say is that the summoned being vanishes. Summon Myrmidon, as written doesn't allow for arrows either. It is a permissable variant to create a 32 point fighter armed with regular weapons, but it doesn't define what regular weapons consist of. But I can see a GM house ruling otherwise, particularly if it fits his plans for the development of the adventure. Of course, it does complicate things if the summoned being leaves things behind. |

Re: Dragon guano
If summoned myrmidons left stuff behind, wizards wouldn't need to work. For 2ST, they get weapons which could be resold.

Re: Dragon guano
On a standard Myrmidon, I would agree with you. With that you get a fighter with a shield and sword all of which are likely to be in the same place for the entire time the spell is in effect, even if the fighter is slain. If, on the other hand, you allow the summoned myrmidon to have any weapons desired and you summon an archer and let him fire an arrow 4 megahexes, does that arrow vanish. The rules are silent on that issue. They are also silent about the bodily functions of summoned beings. Probably because it is a variant of the basic rules and the designers probably decided to not go down this rabbit hole. Any further discussion of these issues might be better moved to the house rules section.

Re: Dragon guano
No one even suggested anything like that. Of course, if you summon a myrmidon who has a sword and shield or a hammer or mace, they should be in his possession the whole time he is present and will vanish with him. But again, an arrow fired at some distance might be left behind, or perhaps not as you see fit in your games. Don't put words in someone's mouth just so you can take a cheap shot.

Re: Dragon guano
As long as we're being Dragon guano crazy, does the arrow vanish:
A: As it leaves the bow. B: When it hits some sort of creation spell range limit previously unknown. C: After inflicting the injury. D: When the spell lapses.
