Re: The Humongous Fungus Trip
I'll post the Spice Island setting as soon as the party finishes feeding themselves to the spiders. (I setup two safe routes around the no-shadows zone between the warning races, and so they went all Jenkins on me.)

Re: The Humongous Fungus Trip
I'm mildly disappointed that this actually has nothing to do with psychedelic mushrooms...
Good stuff though! I'd been thinking along some similar lines with sky islands / cloud forests in the middle of deserts harboring unique ecosystems, and will likely adapt some of these ideas. A note: I don't like the idea that elves don't like bugs. Forests are full of insects and I think of elves as being master ecologists. So instead, I give them a mild allergy to iron, a nod to pre-Tolkien mythology. To keep things simple, I declared that the iron doesn't actually do measurable damage, it just causes itchy hives which are uncomfortable, and worse... ugly. So Elves, in my world, won't manufacture, wear, or wield iron/steel weapons, armor, or tools. |
