"Nice!" is my response to both items in Phil's post. Getting closer.

...and while I understand that SJG will be releasing this in a certain format, for me tinkering with car designs has always been a part of the Car Wars experience.

The game includes vehicle design rules, so you can select weapons and accessories and create a new car from the tools in the box.

The minis expansions offer up more weapons and accessories that are not in the core game.

I did some of that tinkering at Fnorcon. Very specifically picking a different equipment and weapon set to try and set things on fire. It was easy to make modifications and get to playing. In the old game it would have taken a lot longer to tweak and recalculate weights and add/subtract armor to deal with those differences....

Our goal with vehicle design in the new edition: Give players the tools to make cars quickly and easily, so that more time is spent playing the game and less time is spent waiting for _that_ guy to finish his car.

Any day now, I swear. Just got to get a couple more Excel formulas working right.

No worries, I'll be happy to help finish his car! ;-)

From my limited experience this past April, I would say "mission accomplished". I am really excited for this edition, because the thing I've struggled with most when foisting Car Wars on an unsuspecting public is getting them past the intimidation factor of the movement and control tables.

At Fnordcon I read through the deck between turns, asked Jimmie / Randy a handful of dumb questions, and haven't touched the game in almost 6 months. Even with that little experience I have every confidence that all I would need is a few minutes to skim the final book for changes and pluck out 'illegal' cards for that division, then I could have a convention table full of first-timers build custom cars, listen to the MIB spiel, and be throwing dice in 30 minutes flat.

If you aren't building tomorrow's "this time we play for real" cars in your hotel room at 2am the night before, scrambling to adapt to the differences between "playtesting with friends" and "how today's intro session went with actual convention attendees", are you really playing CWC?

Any ideas how international (non-US) pledges will be handled. I hope that there will be a solution to include international pledges like it was done for OGRE kickstarter.

We will make international shipments available. We do not yet have any shipping estimates.
