I can't even think of any sci-fi character with a regicide obsession and a love of folk music.

The dependent was the big hole in the match, but I only have a limited knowledge of Lore. And I figured he may have someone in the episodes I did not see / in some books.

A bad match, to be sure, but at least he was a singing android...
Perhaps that android from one of the later Alien movies ?

If that's the direction of the Obsession: Regicide...

That opens a lot of doors.

The best fit for regicidal spaceman I could see was Kai from Lexx. He might have had a digital mind and interface jack? Maybe (it's been a long since I watched that show). The next best regicide obsessed space man is Four/Ryo from Dark Matter, but he was cleanly human, no cyberware.

To me the desire "kill one's maker" fits better as deicide. If we're getting metaphorical with regicide, that's more "desire to kill a leader". And a leader that cannot be removed from power any other way.

I do not mean anything metaphorical by regicide. There is a reigning monarch who this character wants badly to kill.

Nope. She's unquestionably someone with full civil rights in the society where her adventures take place. Also not regicidal I don't think.

The character is from space opera novels, though.
