Lost In Dreams [Yolanda] - Page 5

Where is she running to? Directly away? Zig zagging? Behind a tree? into the brush of the stream? Is she keeping an eye on how close it is?

((If there's a tree of similar large object nearby that she can put between herself and the creature, she'll run there, otherwise she'll run directly away))

The thing rushes towards Yolanda at that unearthly gait again on three limbs.

She scrambles up and around a tree, her ribs throbbing. The creature rushes past the tree and plants its feet, not even turning, to send a kick at her with a massive limb. She ducks, and a hard bony pad at the end of the foot gouges out a large chunk of bark and wood from the tree. from the power there, Her ribs had to have been hit by an accidental limb, not an intentional blow from that hoof thing.

she is now basically between the creature and the tree.

Yolanda attempts to edge around the other side of tree, hoping it will withstand kicks better than she will.

She moves quickly around the tree, hoping it won't follow well. It certainly makes an effort to. It doesn't turn, but goes around the tree on its three legs, simply moving in the direction in needs to. Yolanda keeps moving around the tree, and it tries reversing its direction, but without success. It rather blindly swings the mouth limb around the tree, but it misses. The creature backs up and makes its noise again.

When the creature backs up, Yolanda still tries to keep the tree between while she reaches down for the closest rock with the intention of tossing it into the water.

Yolanda finds a rock on the ground, and tosses it into the water. Its a good throw (you use default for throwing, but rolled a 7), and there is a splash as the rock falls into the water.

The thing stiffens at the sound -- or perhaps the eyes on the stump are still moving. It does seem to be looking for whatever made the splash.

Yolanda holds her breath, standing as still as she can and waits to see what the creature does.

The creature stands still for some time, then takes a few steps towards the brush in the river. It hoots a few more times, then starts circling Yolanda's tree from its distance of about 30 feet.

Yolanda continues to wait. She tries to stay still, but is ready to move quickly around the tree if the creature approaches.
