Default help building an ally

I am currently helping a friend design an ally, who is a spirit traped inside a book. It is technicaly signature gear, but for points we are going to try and use ally.

The idea is a wizard who bound himself to the book for whatever reason. we were looking for the following characteristics

-can speak to the carrier of the book and cast spells through telepathy
-all senses are that of the caster ie sight hearing
-cannot move on his own-he is a book...-
-was thinking to lowwer all primary stats except for intelligence but keep seconday stats up decently hp/fp
-can also teach spells it knows -teaching and magic skills-

I will post more as i think of it as well as a pdf of the char sheet when I get it done. Would appreciate feedback

Do you have Thaumatology? It has exactly what you need, a chapter on building sentient magic items as characters.

Found it, Anyone have an idea on how to bind its sight and hearing to the user?

I wouldn't even call it a Mitigator, really. There's a significant difference between using your own senses, and using the senses of someone else, who might be at a completely different location, through a connection that could be interrupted. It's like how you can take Mute and Telecommunication (Radio).

How I'd build this sort of sense link would be thus:
Give the book Blind and Deaf, definitely. It should have Mind Reading with the Sensory enhancement. If you want it to be able to automatically connect to the character's mind, no roll required, give it a Mindlink as well. It should also have Telecommunication (Telesend), if you want it to be able to talk back to the character.

Ok below is what I came up with for a starters, is going to be sig gear(ally 100% FoA 12 or less is 5X2=10) and is a familiar with Sympathy totaling a 8 point ally, who you can ask(read roll) to cast a spell on your behalf. as well book willing can teach you various spells from its knowlege.

There are a lot of spells listed here. The book is supost to be primarily a book of curses so it has all spells from body control and necromancy in its spell bank.

I am looking for questions, comments and suggestions on this build.

I might go with Compartmentalized mind as a stealable gadget that can be used by the thief immediately instead of Ally.
