Default Battle Drills: Opting-In

Battle Drills perk from TS37 requires all participants of the drill to Opt-In via Ready maneuver.

Going from that, it seems to imply that you can MOVE unspecificed number of hexes to 'get in position' for this specific drill. Do I have it right or does a character need to actually use Move maneuver to move towards the hex designated by the Drill, and only then opt-in?

You make take a Step as part of a Ready maneuver. If a Drill requires you to be in a place further away than a Step, you can't opt in that turn, but unlike what you might expect from the ordinary use of the word Drill, the Battle Drills *perk* doesn't usually require specific positioning. It's largely rename of Teamwork and offers a bunch of mostly non-location dependent benefits. It's not very closely connected with the Battle Drills *section* on TS22.
