No, this person was well-known as a writer, but also as a TV celebrity. I hadn't seen any of her shows for about 30 years, but just looked a couple up on YouTube. Overweight shading to Fat, what looks like low effective DX and relatively high alcohol consumption.

Embarrassing for me to watch now, but I can see how it is funny, too.
