Default Apocalypse: How does Paranoid work?

The Paranoid card confuses me. Is it something that is played like a class and stays in effect the entire game? (Thus the rule saying that it stays w/ you even through death) Or is it a one shot effect card played from your hand only? I suspect something is a bit fishy with that card.

Now that I've got the set, I can say that the card itself isn't confusing at all. It's sort of like a Class, but you can play it on anyone else too, so it's really a new type of card. The fact that it sticks around and survives death is written on the card.

This, except you can also play it on other people and you can discard it when a Seal closes.

(And to answer the followup question, even though there are two Paranoid cards, you can't be double Paranoid.)

I finally got my apocalypse set in the mail today, and I played my first game of it. Paranoid didn't strike me as odd at all. Since I have all the Christmas boosters, I assumed that it's just like naughty or nice, except instead of being able to discard it whenever you feel like it, you have the option to discard it only when a seal is close. I also take it to be kind of like a madness from Cthulhu, which can be played on anyone, except it can be cured if a seal is closed(though, personally, I think its effects are more positive than anything, particularly in the latter part of a game).

Agreed, in the late game when people generally aren't inclined to help each other, being Paranoid is a good thing. :)

A Paranoid get +5 when fighting alone and get -5 when he has a Helper, what happen if the Paranoid is the Helper? No special bonus/penalty?

Thanks.

Since the helper is not fighting alone and does not himself have a helper, neither clause of Paranoid triggers, and there is no bonus or penalty.

You may have missed it earlier in the thread, but I said:

Although, in today's world, being double Paranoid might not be a bad thing . . . :-)
