Re: Druids should heal - Maybe Bards
We've tried adding every healing spell to druids at the same levels as clerics. Didn't really break anything, just means druid is an alternative cleric. Druids can brew healing potions as mentioned above, super cheap. In one game I was a player in, we filled a wineskin full of minor healing potion. In combat healing sometimes is really nice, but for everything else, there's the wineskin.

Druids are an excellent choice for mundane healing skills & surgery. Surgery is also really good for recovering animal bits that are treasure.

Re: Druids should heal - Maybe Bards
I think it would be cool if druids could heal in a different way than clerics who heal by prayer. Maybe the Druid requires some sort of herbal salve to supernaturally heal others?

DCC recommends making custom charts for different classes that cast the same spell; "Why would an Elf cast a spell the same way as a Wizard, much less a Cleric?" It would seem a lot of work to come up with charts for all the spells in the Spells book, but the players would probably love it. |

Re: Druids should heal - Maybe Bards
Druids heal just fine, but differently: they get 50% off the price of healing potions. In practice, building a store of cheaply purchased healing potions is a better long-term healing strategy than relying on a single PC who can heal each character maybe thrice a day, and might well be unconscious when you need it.
Clerics are awesome, but healing is partly a distraction from what they’re actually good at.
