Hey Poi,

The minimum specs we have listed on Steam are;

OS: Windows 7 / 8 / 10, 32bit
Processor: 1.80GHz Quad Core Processor
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 or better
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 3 GB available space

You definitely won't need a really high-end gaming PC for it to run :)

Yup, my early 2013 laptop meets the specs with processor and RAM to spare.

I would really like to get this video game, but I only have an old MacBook Pro right now.

I don't expect to have the resources soon to get a system or a configuration to host the Windows version.

I've been beta testing the Ogre game on a windows tablet with 2 gigs of memory and while maybe a little sluggish it does run. So an Asus or something similar that you can get for under 150 would work fine. Do invest in a mouse though the touchpad doesn't work as well though there are hot keys for the keyboard.

I see that Steam is available for Windows or Mac. Will OGRE run on a Mac, or is it Windows only?

Me too. I found a 90-day trial of windows 10 and am working through setting up virtual box. Tom, I'll report in when/if I have a working recipe.

Caveats - I didn't see the mouse using X windows, but the mac native seems fine. Command-tab to get back to the mac OS. It runs the fans pretty hard, so I won't be resting it on my lap while I play.

I'm playing primarily on a Windows 7 VM in VirtualBox on a late 2012 MBP. It "runs" but it's pokey, to say the least; even with everything dialed down (animations off, etc). I'm able to get my fix, but it's far from an ideal setup.

The main thing I noticed is the fewer AU on the screen, the better it runs. In other words, zoom all the way in. It's pretty responsive when you do that for the most part. Obviously the downside is you lose context (where things outside your viewing area are, etc), but at least you can play.

I get the feeling all the processing is happening for all the objects on screen all the time. It would be nice if you could make the objects static so the system doesn't have to constantly redraw everything. That would probably help a lot.
