Lego Minifigs For Character Markers
Thanks to places like GI Brick, I've been making minifig representations of my characters.
The hex base they make is 1" across flats and matches the normal GURPS scale. But what surprised me this evening is a Lego horse is a proper 3-hex critter! A character from a nexus world, who was made primarily to resupply the party with high-tech weaponry. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4580/3...e14da6ed_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4572/2...df3804be_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4518/3...abfa83fb_b.jpg I'm having a great time with my discovery! Snake chimera from Tecnomancer/Merlin from Rhodesia c1975. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4492/3...059818cb_b.jpg An orc from another nexus world (with as close as I can get to a Lego cigar. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4559/3...6819e0c7_b.jpg A Protestant Scot pirate from a generally hilarious Swashbuckler campaign. https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8859/2...97af80ac_b.jpg

Re: Lego Minifigs For Character Markers
HandofBobb recently got the minifigs necessary to make our original Infinite Weirdos party. We showed the picture to our players during the season two launch last Sunday.
They were pretty cool. Lego are a good method for terrain and figures if you don't have a nigh-infinite source of figures like we do. |

Further confirmation that this was Evil Stevie's vision all along!

Re: Lego Minifigs For Character Markers
My group has been using lego minifigs (with standard bases--hexes were deemed too pricey) for several years. We love the fact that we can arm our PCs and represent dropped weapons on the field, and that the figures are so customizable.
Things do get a bit clumsy though when there's a lot of close combat, because shared hexes get overcrowded easily. And yes, we've used various creatures like horses, dogs, etc. to good effect. If we need a new monster that doesn't exist we just build it out of bricks or use a non-lego figurine or something. |

Re: Lego Minifigs For Character Markers
I know this thread is a bit old, but I was very excited when I read it and just now have had a chance to post.
We've also used my Legos figures from when I was a kid. I've loved it, both because it's cheap and because it's so customizable. It's a sci-fi setting, so I got to use old space and knight figures, as well as some of my western ones. A couple of times I built sets for the main action sequences, as well. My favorite was a raid on a bandit hideout. I had all the old barrels from my Western sets, wooden walls, balconies with railings, treasure chests. The bandits were around the room behind barrels and inside doors, and the PC crew strolled in. Then we had an old-fashioned Western shoot-out. I even had the obligatory scene of a man getting shot and falling through a railing and off a balcony. I haven't done that recently, as it was quite time-consuming, but it sure was fun! |
