Default Epic Munchkin Quest

Will there be any Epic Munchkin Quest rules or should we just make our own house rules?

I was thinking of adding d20 powers to the classes and d10 powers to the races. Or have Prestige Class Enhancer cards, and Race Enhancer cards like Dark and High.

To quote Jose Jimenez, "Oooh, I hope not!"

Seriously, I did a 13-hour MQ launch today. I think the game actually goes slower with experienced Munchkin players at first, because they have to unlearn Munchkin rules and relearn the MQ variants. We got a total of three games in, all day long.

I don't even want to think about taking it to level 20.

I'm with you. This is not Munchkin and trying to treat Munchkin Quest like Munchkin is just going to cause problems.

I seriously recommend that everyone get in a dozen or more sessions of the game as written before trying any variants. Munchkin Quest is a large dungeon crawl game with lots of rules that interact in specific ways and any attempt to go around those rules is likely going to end in trouble.

Since this currently one of the baddest of bad ideas, let's table the discussion for now. I'll start by closing this thread. Later, like some time in the new year (but not immediately in the new year), I will create a sticky thread for variants on the base game, which may or may not include discussions of "Epic" play.
