Default A non-fantasy riding trip

I'm thinking about doing the next video with defense against mounted combat with ordinary humans without fantastical elements.

French get six knights on warhorses on the south side of the map.
The English get four men at arms and four longbowmen, all on foot. The men at arms are in a clear section in the north center while the longbowmen are evenly split between wooded areas in the North East and North West.

I just need to figure out the terrain effects. Any special requests for equipment? Pikes or just spears for the footmen?

Sounds cool. How large is the map? Spears are probably more typical for most games, though pikes would almost certainly be more appropriate for a planned confrontation. At least one mace for the knights?

Wizard map. NW entry and two megahexes south are woods, same for the two megahexes on the north side of the east edge.

An interesting skirmish! Pass the riders a note from me remindinng them they get lots of chances for push-backs, over-runs and avoiding engagement!

A Wizard map isn't much space for either bows or riders to do their things. Just saying.

A wizard map with one-inch hexes is about all I can show clearly in a video.

Question: What happens if an arrow is fired into a hex that has both a rider and a horse in it?

There's no clear rule adding any detail on how to handle it in any particular way.

I assume it works as usual:

If it's a deliberate attack, roll to hit either the rider or the mount, whichever was aimed for.

If it's an arrow passing through that wasn't aimed intentionally for either, you'd use the rules for hitting the wrong target etc. I'd probably roll once to see if either is hit, and if so, roll randomly to see which one is hit, as with shooting into a HTH hex.

(However I think there are issues with rolling to miss in TFT, and prefer to use my TFT house version of the GURPS method.)

Part one of three is up:

I think the phrase "Trample Carefully" is in part two.
