The bases in the miniatures sets are the four player colors, not clear. Clear bases are packed with the wrecks, or available as an add-on item (four bases).

Do the wreck minis serve any in-game purpose, or are they just a fun way to show dead cars? I expect dead cars stay on the board as obstacles?

If I recall, you can wreck your car if you botch a control roll bad enough. And loss of PP wrecks you too. So, yep.

If you are knocked out of the game, you replace your car with a wreck token (included in the core game). These wreck miniatures are for those who want to upgrade the wreck from a piece of chipboard to a plastic mini.

And the wrecks remain on the table and can be hit again, which isn't good news. They can also provide cover.

There was a question on the Twitch stream that didn't get answered about doing a Munchkin Car Wars. I'm not really a fan of Munchkin but is that even on the radar and would that sell?
